Cane Back Chairs

As soon as I saw this image in the February issue of House Beautiful I instantly became smitten with the simplicity of it. It was designed by our friends at Tracery Interiors. I adore every aspect, but I find my eye being continually drawn to the caned back chair, so pretty.

This then started me on a search for more caned backed chairs. I adore the set below. The use of a more modern end chairs keeps this look quite young and fresh.

Can only find one of these beauties? I think she makes for a beautiful desk or vanity chair.

This has a different style, but is the same idea. I love how it is in a more modern and fun setting, yet still feels right at home.

I spotted this one at the French Market. She is part of set. Love the natural wood. I think she would look quite lovely in any home setting. Mine especially, ha.

Never met a cane back chair I didn't love...all the ones above are gorgeous and one is as pretty as the next. My first adult dining room was a petite french set with cane back chairs..and I loved them, they looked so elegant and gave me more design credit than I deserved at 27. I would consider them again for other areas in my new home....they are just beautiful classics.

I have four round my breakfast room table that we rescued from a pickled finish. Aw I love their lines and the texture the cane adds.

I made the mistake of painting the cane on a large reproduction bergere. I regret it to this day! LOL!
You just reminded me I have two chairs in my garage that I forgot about!
LOL! I think I am too young for Alzheimers?
I buy cane chairs then walk around the house looking for a place to put them!
Come see my newest post! I think you will be inspired!

I love the Kimberly Sheldon image, saving this for inspiration. And I adore cane back chairs, the remind me of my bedroom set when I was growing up.

It's nice to know that other people are thinking about the same things that I am right now! I'm in the process of trying to place two cane back chairs in different areas of my house AND I'm on the hunt for a set of 6 or 8 for my shop! This was beautiful! Thanks! Carolyn

I love the pictures you find for inspiration. The first is particularly wonderful with the mix of woods, from painted or pickled to natural to ebonized. I also love that white dining table with the more formal chairs.

Gorgeous images. The delicately carved legs are so charming against the texture of the caning.

Hello there! Quick question that's completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I'm trying to find a theme
or plugin that might be able to fix this problem.
If you have any suggestions, please share. Appreciate

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a
sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this
is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your
blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful
lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
