Summer is finally here and we could not be more excited. Flowers are blooming, the grass is green, and time is beginning to travel at a slower pace. We here at Mrs. French are going to embrace the season to its fullest and take a bit of time off for the summer. We appreciate every one of you that has followed our journey through the beauty of antiques and what inspires us. We will be back in the fall with fresh ideas and new beginnings. Hope you all will rejoin us when that time comes... <i>À la prochaine fois.</i><br />

The intricate detail doesn't feel fussy yet is quite pretty. I adore this small desk at the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a>. I could see it as an entry table, bedside table, side table, and of course a desk for letter writing. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iUc6FTBjc0Q/Tc_qtj2cIVI/AAAAAAAAAPw/7LWZumrmYgc/s1600/DSC_7588.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iUc6FTBjc0Q/Tc_qtj2cIVI/AAAAAAAAAPw/7LWZumrmYgc/s640/DSC_7588.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Of course I had to share a few more spindles that have inspired me so.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fZh0hHd1jds/Tc_q1JkFaJI/AAAAAAAAAP4/WfkvrP6oT3s/s1600/image_thumb4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fZh0hHd1jds/Tc_q1JkFaJI/AAAAAAAAAP4/WfkvrP6oT3s/s640/image_thumb4.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />

Below is my son's room. I knew I wanted him to have a spindle bed.<br />

To me they are a timeless staple that can look quite lovely in almost any setting. I love the black with gold detailing, quite stunning.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rP8bOuLFL8/Tccl4F1-h2I/AAAAAAAAAPY/G13crmyqR60/s1600/DSC_7570.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rP8bOuLFL8/Tccl4F1-h2I/AAAAAAAAAPY/G13crmyqR60/s640/DSC_7570.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
As always when I come across a piece that inspires I start on a hunt to find the settings that I imagine. One of my all time favorite kitchens by Windsor Smith is one of my favorite examples for the use of bamboo chairs. A long table right in the middle of the kitchen flanked with a combination of chairs is perfection in my book. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rXFsDlIGMnU/TccmJ7G6SUI/AAAAAAAAAPc/5uw8Idbnjk0/s1600/14c010b755e7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rXFsDlIGMnU/TccmJ7G6SUI/AAAAAAAAAPc/5uw8Idbnjk0/s640/14c010b755e7.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>Nate Berkus uses a pair in a living space. I adore how they can be used in both a feminine and masculine space.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-civnZhK1nO0/TccmKALtySI/AAAAAAAAAPg/n7jkmS_cWLw/s1600/Nate+Berkus%252C+bamboo+chairs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-civnZhK1nO0/TccmKALtySI/AAAAAAAAAPg/n7jkmS_cWLw/s640/Nate+Berkus%252C+bamboo+chairs.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This is most decidedly a feminine space with major a glamor factor. Designer Erin Gates definitely knows how to add a bit of wow. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3bauN8A6jQk/TccmRojDtEI/AAAAAAAAAPk/sd4z6VeUGws/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-02-14+at+2.42.01+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="414" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3bauN8A6jQk/TccmRojDtEI/AAAAAAAAAPk/sd4z6VeUGws/s640/Screen+shot+2011-02-14+at+2.42.01+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I normally refrain from using much color, but this space has me singing a new tune. It feels quite sophisticated, but the color most definitely adds touches of fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eJ6ZmtZKSdQ/TccmSooXMRI/AAAAAAAAAPo/jqKKs_ureRI/s1600/timeless-dining-room-pair-l.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eJ6ZmtZKSdQ/TccmSooXMRI/AAAAAAAAAPo/jqKKs_ureRI/s640/timeless-dining-room-pair-l.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This space is probably most like me, simple with classic pieces and a bit of rustic charm. I rather like understated design. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jx0b_ML6S1E/TccmZHkvw7I/AAAAAAAAAPs/CbSbCaAMHMs/s1600/ce16728e4680.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jx0b_ML6S1E/TccmZHkvw7I/AAAAAAAAAPs/CbSbCaAMHMs/s640/ce16728e4680.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />

Of course functionality is always key for me too so maybe that is why they appeal to me so. Beautiful and functional, love that there is such a thing. <br />

This one from the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a> has the most lovely honey color. Her lines are quite lovely. I could see her in an entry way, used at a dining table, or even at the end of a bed. It is one of those pieces that can move room to room as life changes. Life most certainty does change over the years. <br />

I got to spend some much needed time with the ladies of the French Market and even Mrs. French herself. They are always such a delight. As soon as I caught a glimpse of this piece I instantly thought it would make for one amazing kitchen island. Could you imagine?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LpI6FiwhVSY/TayI7P8K5xI/AAAAAAAAAPA/l6Q1bwSBxSQ/s1600/DSC_7580.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LpI6FiwhVSY/TayI7P8K5xI/AAAAAAAAAPA/l6Q1bwSBxSQ/s640/DSC_7580.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
It reminds me greatly of this one from the December issue of <a href="http://www.veranda.com/">Veranda</a>. Large, slightly worn, and ever so beautiful. It would add instant age and character to a space. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aH7sXNG9JXI/TayH4PJ1gSI/AAAAAAAAAO8/6PKPoy7_8t8/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-04-18+at+1.44.56+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aH7sXNG9JXI/TayH4PJ1gSI/AAAAAAAAAO8/6PKPoy7_8t8/s640/Screen+shot+2011-04-18+at+1.44.56+PM.png" width="510" /></a></div><br />
Here is an overall view of the kitchen. Gorgeous, isn't it? I believe I found it on <a href="http://cotedetexas.blogspot.com/">Cote de Texas</a>, but I can't be sure. I saved it to my inspiration folder ages ago. <br />

I have since had the privileged to meet her and she is quite the doll. Well back to the chest, I loved her and could never have imagined her any other way besides this pretty robin's egg blue. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WGzQwEh2llM/TaIaJpVnBzI/AAAAAAAAAO0/k52buksqNTE/s1600/DSC_8343.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WGzQwEh2llM/TaIaJpVnBzI/AAAAAAAAAO0/k52buksqNTE/s640/DSC_8343.JPG" width="420" /></a></div><br />
That's until I saw her decked out in a fresh coat of paint. She is now a cream color with a slight glaze. I didn't even notice she was the same beauty until going through my French Market images.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hLZxOxV5_GM/TaIZw4-wx_I/AAAAAAAAAOw/s7itYSQQlfE/s1600/DSC_2305.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hLZxOxV5_GM/TaIZw4-wx_I/AAAAAAAAAOw/s7itYSQQlfE/s640/DSC_2305.JPG" width="408" /></a></div><br />
I love that spring is upon us here in Birmingham. I am thinking a few of my old pieces might need a bit of sprucing up too. <br />

I thought the next best thing to actually getting to do it would be to put an inspiration board together. This is what I came with...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VgOtbsY4R5o/TZia96T_6ZI/AAAAAAAAAOg/rqWtMHJJk5E/s1600/spanishmrsfrench.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VgOtbsY4R5o/TZia96T_6ZI/AAAAAAAAAOg/rqWtMHJJk5E/s640/spanishmrsfrench.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
A bit masculine, yet feels quite cozy. Of course a constant array of fresh flowers would add a much needed feminine touch. Below are a few more iron pieces that caught my eye.<br />

It was designed by our friends at <a href="http://www.traceryinteriors.com/">Tracery Interiors</a>. I adore every aspect, but I find my eye being continually drawn to the caned back chair, so pretty. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J-hIZUsKe8g/TY9ZtDPeu4I/AAAAAAAAAOU/21aNiZZ_Pp4/s1600/french-country-entryway-sconce-0311-tracery03-de.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J-hIZUsKe8g/TY9ZtDPeu4I/AAAAAAAAAOU/21aNiZZ_Pp4/s640/french-country-entryway-sconce-0311-tracery03-de.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">{<a href="http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/house-pictures/traditional-decorating-ideas-0311?click=main_sr">House Beautiful </a>photo Jonny Valiant}</div><br />
This then started me on a search for more caned backed chairs. I adore the set below. The use of a more modern end chairs keeps this look quite young and fresh.<br />

I am sure it has something to do with the way it sparkles. She instantly adds a dose of pretty wherever she is hung. I like how each venetian mirror below is hung in a setting that is quite different from each other, but I must say the mirror steels the show each and every time. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OfOE28v7huc/TYejNT2vO-I/AAAAAAAAAOE/-Tf0kEp4x18/s1600/venetian-mirror-decorating-16.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OfOE28v7huc/TYejNT2vO-I/AAAAAAAAAOE/-Tf0kEp4x18/s640/venetian-mirror-decorating-16.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br />

Maybe that is one reason why I gravitate towards them so. They are quite useful and can be used in any room. An entryway, bedroom, dining, living room, and even a kitchen could house any one of the pieces below beautifully. Each piece feels quite stunning, but at the same time feel so different. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4cMP2TOKfUE/TX5HSXpdfUI/AAAAAAAAFzU/ATZhvK-pXiY/s1600/DSC_2043.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4cMP2TOKfUE/TX5HSXpdfUI/AAAAAAAAFzU/ATZhvK-pXiY/s640/DSC_2043.JPG" width="412" /></a></div><br />
I could easily see this in a gorgeous entryway. Would make a great spot for extra hats and gloves too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PF9ig9iSxwc/TX5IJAnMQfI/AAAAAAAAFzc/fo3Mo-GyhJA/s1600/DSC_2253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-PF9ig9iSxwc/TX5IJAnMQfI/AAAAAAAAFzc/fo3Mo-GyhJA/s640/DSC_2253.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
This piece would be quite lovely in a boys room. The more it got banged up the more beautiful it would become.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zH2ba3hQvz8/TX5HAlrwyLI/AAAAAAAAFzQ/3QpT0Lig9Zk/s1600/DSC_2036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="438" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zH2ba3hQvz8/TX5HAlrwyLI/AAAAAAAAFzQ/3QpT0Lig9Zk/s640/DSC_2036.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Wouldn't this be stunning in a dining room? Again there is plenty of room for extra serving dishes and silver.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EbbzX_g3YeI/TX5IcpNiFFI/AAAAAAAAFzg/cFBLPMN_-5A/s1600/DSC_2305.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EbbzX_g3YeI/TX5IcpNiFFI/AAAAAAAAFzg/cFBLPMN_-5A/s640/DSC_2305.JPG" width="408" /></a></div><br />
She would look quite wonderful anywhere. Maybe in a living room flanked by two gorgeous chairs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-fu-y7Qoj9g0/TX5HtGfR5DI/AAAAAAAAFzY/tofzo6-uVoU/s1600/DSC_2050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-fu-y7Qoj9g0/TX5HtGfR5DI/AAAAAAAAFzY/tofzo6-uVoU/s640/DSC_2050.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
This would be perfect for a bedroom with any decor. I believe every room should have at least one solid antique piece. The beauty of all the pieces above is that they can all be moved room to room over the years. There is not one set place for pieces like this. I guess you could say it adds to the charm. <br />
<br />
<br />
If you could see any of these pieces in your home, shipping is available through the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a>.Mrs. Frenchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10557802283328331937noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2889318785135067428.post-83981699973721206612011-03-08T03:34:00.000-06:002011-03-08T03:34:00.410-06:00TransferwareI love the look of plates hanging on a wall. If the plates happen to be <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transferware">transferware</a> then the look is taken to a whole other level for me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KuMShwRvYaA/TXPTzj-wvjI/AAAAAAAAANg/nBmDtqQJb04/s1600/6-howard-1208-xlg-30927980.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KuMShwRvYaA/TXPTzj-wvjI/AAAAAAAAANg/nBmDtqQJb04/s640/6-howard-1208-xlg-30927980.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">{via <a href="http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/soft-pretty-howard">House Beautiful</a> photo: Luke White}</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">The transferware mixed with the various antlers adds a touch of whimsy. Keeps the space feeling quite young too. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vTyxkUVRSqQ/TXPT0JMtdDI/AAAAAAAAANk/k7a1LOoLltg/s1600/ceramics-3-x.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vTyxkUVRSqQ/TXPT0JMtdDI/AAAAAAAAANk/k7a1LOoLltg/s640/ceramics-3-x.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">{Via <a href="http://www.southernaccents.com/decorating/style-design/dished-up-00400000025716/">Southern Accents</a> photo: Tria Giovan}</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">This large grouping has such a sophisticated feel without feeling stuffing. This transferware is in lavender which I have never seen before, quite lovely. </div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">I adore the mix of transferware with the plain white plates. Such a wonderful focal point in the room.</div><br />

Here are a few pieces that I spotted at the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a>. I love the black. It brings such a fresh feel to it. I could easily see a whole wall covered in them. Just the thought of it makes me giddy!<br />

It is quite masculine, but I think that is what draws me into this particular image. The dark mahogany makes this mantel quite the statement piece. It was captured quite beautifully. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9PcRq5Cadnk/TWVFiEHumOI/AAAAAAAAAMw/W3e8A0yG41c/s1600/tommy-smythe-hearth.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9PcRq5Cadnk/TWVFiEHumOI/AAAAAAAAAMw/W3e8A0yG41c/s640/tommy-smythe-hearth.jpg" width="522" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">{image via <a href="http://www.styleathome.com/homes/interiors/interior-tommy-smythe-s-stylish-suite/a/34419/5">Style at Home</a> / Photo by Michael Graydon}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I then came across this piece at the French Market and I love how the above mantel and this both share the deep mahogany stain. What I love about the below mantel though is the more feminine lines. She's thick, but has such beautiful details. She walks the line of being both feminine and masculine. <br />

I then noticed an old push button on the side. It makes me dream of where this piece may have been and the story's she could tell. <br />

I was in awe of the beauty of the pieces. A few days later I was in the<a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/"> French Market</a> and noticed a few for sale. I loved getting to see the pieces up close and they truly are stunning. Go <a href="http://www.engraving-review.com/antique-prints.html">here</a>, for a little history lesson on antique engravings if you like. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-ZB9eIDy-k/TWKmdHKumII/AAAAAAAAAMg/U-ZfUI4qaVo/s1600/DSC_2314.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-ZB9eIDy-k/TWKmdHKumII/AAAAAAAAAMg/U-ZfUI4qaVo/s640/DSC_2314.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7prklJiTsU/TWKnO3KsTBI/AAAAAAAAAMo/_n9SjnekEH8/s1600/DSC_2318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7prklJiTsU/TWKnO3KsTBI/AAAAAAAAAMo/_n9SjnekEH8/s640/DSC_2318.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EraV0claPpI/TWKnmaYz7NI/AAAAAAAAAMs/JNYi0Ff5uqc/s1600/DSC_2319.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EraV0claPpI/TWKnmaYz7NI/AAAAAAAAAMs/JNYi0Ff5uqc/s640/DSC_2319.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Here are the antique engravings that are in <a href="http://www.aperfectgray.com/2011/02/antique-engravings.html">A Perfect Grays home</a>. Are they not gorgeous...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uVCcmZByotY/TWKmGiAuD-I/AAAAAAAAAMc/LnC7bsD9Q_U/s1600/028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uVCcmZByotY/TWKmGiAuD-I/AAAAAAAAAMc/LnC7bsD9Q_U/s640/028.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
They are definitely pieces to collect and then pass down generations. I simply adore them.Mrs. Frenchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10557802283328331937noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2889318785135067428.post-84781136871506167432011-02-17T03:48:00.000-06:002011-02-17T03:48:00.234-06:00The Beauty of a ScreenI love the idea of using a screen as a piece of wall art. The varying shades of red in <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">this piece</a> it quite beautiful. I am not a person that gravitates towards red normally, but this one is rather lovely. Wouldn't it add quite the punch to an all neutral space?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zS9Lkh71KA/TVSH0lbU1NI/AAAAAAAAAMU/NAqwqBKiILs/s1600/DSC_2039.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zS9Lkh71KA/TVSH0lbU1NI/AAAAAAAAAMU/NAqwqBKiILs/s640/DSC_2039.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I think <a href="http://cotedetexas.blogspot.com/search/label/Wheats">Sally Wheats home</a> could be used in every post I do. I adore her style. She broke down a rather large screen to make it fit here. Simply beautiful. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NDwxx-Tk10c/TVSH336NqNI/AAAAAAAAAMY/X3tsVAOIiR4/s1600/image_thumb65.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NDwxx-Tk10c/TVSH336NqNI/AAAAAAAAAMY/X3tsVAOIiR4/s640/image_thumb65.png" width="640" /></a></div>Mrs. Frenchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10557802283328331937noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2889318785135067428.post-35894396297659605722011-02-15T03:25:00.000-06:002011-02-15T03:25:00.930-06:00Gilded MirrorsEvery home has a mirror. They make for quite a statement piece when a piece of art just won't do. The mirror that I am drawn to most as of late is a gilded mirror. They can be rather simple or ornate, but the gilded factor is what makes it shine. The one below is my favorite to date...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w5xTdiLitVQ/TVSDee7_j9I/AAAAAAAAAMI/S_PfTudmTCc/s1600/DSC_2054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w5xTdiLitVQ/TVSDee7_j9I/AAAAAAAAAMI/S_PfTudmTCc/s640/DSC_2054.JPG" width="436" /></a></div><br />
I adore seeing then in homes. This one is rather traditional, but has a touch of rustic that I adore.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EPrZrlIWml0/TVSDJPTiMwI/AAAAAAAAAME/JtKxVWcFisI/s1600/bc+foyer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EPrZrlIWml0/TVSDJPTiMwI/AAAAAAAAAME/JtKxVWcFisI/s640/bc+foyer.jpg" width="474" /></a></div><br />
This space is much more contemporary, but mixes well with antique pieces.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F7tkNl9xD10/TVSD09DE46I/AAAAAAAAAMQ/wQ6b21B1QSQ/s1600/katie+stassi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-F7tkNl9xD10/TVSD09DE46I/AAAAAAAAAMQ/wQ6b21B1QSQ/s640/katie+stassi.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This gilded beauty is much more ornate. I love the way it looks in this space.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HT7Zn23k15Q/TVSDI9c_yoI/AAAAAAAAAMA/DFOpbUPPVsQ/s1600/1204100730303-FtGreenePl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HT7Zn23k15Q/TVSDI9c_yoI/AAAAAAAAAMA/DFOpbUPPVsQ/s640/1204100730303-FtGreenePl.jpg" width="534" /></a></div><br />
Here are a mixture of beauties. I know this is just for display, but wouldn't it be amazing in a grand stairwell or hall.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5Y1_5UFJaJU/TVSDz1VswPI/AAAAAAAAAMM/AkXwp7WI3rA/s1600/DSC_2083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="422" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5Y1_5UFJaJU/TVSDz1VswPI/AAAAAAAAAMM/AkXwp7WI3rA/s640/DSC_2083.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />

Love how utilitarian they once were, but at the same time were made with such beauty and elegance. These two caught my eye at the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a>...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R6SXwOznP8A/TVM2QFcm66I/AAAAAAAAALw/_aHivGBSgdQ/s1600/DSC_2038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R6SXwOznP8A/TVM2QFcm66I/AAAAAAAAALw/_aHivGBSgdQ/s640/DSC_2038.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Little pieces of art, wouldn't you say?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HMCt8zK5s9E/TVM2lWupZLI/AAAAAAAAAL0/VsE1RcTmnyc/s1600/DSC_2064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HMCt8zK5s9E/TVM2lWupZLI/AAAAAAAAAL0/VsE1RcTmnyc/s640/DSC_2064.JPG" width="420" /></a></div><br />
After doing a bit of a search it seems Holly from <a href="http://www.thingsthatinspire.net/2009/10/french-barometers.html">Things that inspire</a> has a thing for them too. She compiled a beautiful array of <a href="http://www.thingsthatinspire.net/2009/10/french-barometers.html">photos</a> that show off the true art form a barometer can be. These are a few of my favorites...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MVvK0tDcvuE/TVM1IOZK60I/AAAAAAAAALs/H-0RMrXw5DQ/s1600/ScannedImage-3_thumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MVvK0tDcvuE/TVM1IOZK60I/AAAAAAAAALs/H-0RMrXw5DQ/s640/ScannedImage-3_thumb.jpg" width="504" /></a></div><br />

It has the softest touch of pink. It doesn't scream girlie though. I could see it almost any room...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TVAZYC1dicI/AAAAAAAAALo/REsVfu37Z74/s1600/DSC_2045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TVAZYC1dicI/AAAAAAAAALo/REsVfu37Z74/s640/DSC_2045.JPG" width="406" /></a></div><br />
Wouldn't it be lovely used in a somewhat neutral living space? A <a href="http://www.serenaandlily.com/Furniture-Sofas-Upholstered-Miramar-Sofa">sofa</a> to sink into, a few <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/54124836/barbara-barry-poetical-20-inch-pillow">throw pillows</a>, an occasional <a href="http://www.westelm.com/products/ellery-arm-chair-g171/?pkey=cchairs-ottomans-benches">chair</a> or two would bring the cozy factor in with style. A stunning piece of <a href="http://www.michellearmas.bigcartel.com/product/lava-rainbow">art</a> flanked by a couple <a href="http://www.aidangrayhome.com/francesca-wall-sconce-pi-769.html">sconces </a>would make quite the statement. Of course a <a href="http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1671102&categoryId=cat1544013">coffee table</a> would be needed for drinks and popcorn, because I could see the above piece housing a small TV. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TVAY4c18lVI/AAAAAAAAALg/_mQfA3J8F6E/s1600/MFroom1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TVAY4c18lVI/AAAAAAAAALg/_mQfA3J8F6E/s640/MFroom1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Ah, but don't get me wrong. It would make for a lovely piece in a girls bedroom too. I would use it to house toys and clothing. Probably all the pretty little dressed I would want to show off. A <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=56501&catId=HOME-FURNITURE&pushId=HOME-FURNITURE&popId=HOME&navAction=top&navCount=42&color=one&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&isSubcategory=true&subCategoryId=HOME-FURNITURE-BEDS">bed </a>fit for a princess would anchor the room. <a href="http://www.rikshawdesign.com/index.html">Rikshaw bedding </a>would bring in a touch of boho that I adore so much. A <a href="http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=063171&catId=HOME-FURNITURE-TABLES&pushId=HOME-FURNITURE-TABLES&popId=HOME-FURNITURE&navAction=middle&navCount=36&color=015&isProduct=true&fromCategoryPage=true&templateType=D">side table</a> that I am sure would be used for tea parties also. A fun <a href="http://www.straydogdesigns.com/shop/Products/Lighting/Floor-Lamps/Helena-Floor-Lamp-191.html#">lamp</a> and <a href="http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Hand-tufted-Bridgeport-Ivory-Geometric-Rug-55-x-74/5329464/product.html?rcmndsrc=2">rug</a> would keep it fresh and young. Of course, quite a few <a href="http://hableconstruction.com/product.php?productid=16852&category_id=314">hampers </a>would be used for toys and such, in my opinion you can never have too many. <br />

Well, as long as you don't include white and griege into the equation. I love to spend time outdoors gardening so maybe my green obsession stems from there. One of my favorite ways to incorporate green into a home is through the use of green glass. The antique green bottles are quite stunning and make quite a statement...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNyXs9wUI/AAAAAAAAALM/P1sVTM9MRYk/s1600/image_thumb59.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="492" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNyXs9wUI/AAAAAAAAALM/P1sVTM9MRYk/s640/image_thumb59.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnN1ZXfGPI/AAAAAAAAALc/d__-1V0-Y0Y/s1600/rosemary_3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="458" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnN1ZXfGPI/AAAAAAAAALc/d__-1V0-Y0Y/s640/rosemary_3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Isn't he smashing?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnMzKjHeWI/AAAAAAAAALA/waDl42lZIrA/s1600/DSC_2072.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnMzKjHeWI/AAAAAAAAALA/waDl42lZIrA/s1600/DSC_2072.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnMzKjHeWI/AAAAAAAAALA/waDl42lZIrA/s640/DSC_2072.JPG" width="408" /></a></div><br />
These just might be my favorite...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNvJG_0pI/AAAAAAAAALI/_bA1Whm8rPA/s1600/DSC_2077.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="414" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNvJG_0pI/AAAAAAAAALI/_bA1Whm8rPA/s640/DSC_2077.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
because this image is forever ingrained into my memory. I love everything about it and the glass jars above would make me one step closer to having a kitchen like this one day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnN1Okh09I/AAAAAAAAALY/i0McsQTga_0/s1600/ppebble.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnN1Okh09I/AAAAAAAAALY/i0McsQTga_0/s640/ppebble.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I would love to this piece in a home. The green glass mixed with the rope is quite unique and would make for a lovely vignette.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNRSmG-mI/AAAAAAAAALE/2vUiI1rth1Q/s1600/DSC_2074.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNRSmG-mI/AAAAAAAAALE/2vUiI1rth1Q/s640/DSC_2074.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Okay, so the two following images aren't exactly of green glass, but they are beautiful and use the same idea.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNzTHhnhI/AAAAAAAAALQ/5fM4lz_xMVo/s1600/IMG_1477.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUnNzTHhnhI/AAAAAAAAALQ/5fM4lz_xMVo/s640/IMG_1477.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />

I can honestly say I haven't thought of doing that in years. My mother on the other hand has a beautiful array of art that she had done with colored matting decades ago. Seeing Jenny's post made me want to go "borrow" a few pieces for myself. As for now I can just admire the work of others who embraced the idea of colored matting...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcoriHrbyI/AAAAAAAAAKs/nicMKFnnbR0/s1600/0310-Sanders-02-de.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcoriHrbyI/AAAAAAAAAKs/nicMKFnnbR0/s640/0310-Sanders-02-de.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcosOVTBCI/AAAAAAAAAKw/CxPQ99zzzbo/s1600/0310-Sanders-04-de.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="500" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcosOVTBCI/AAAAAAAAAKw/CxPQ99zzzbo/s640/0310-Sanders-04-de.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This is for the ones that can go bold. I absolutely adore it, but am sure I could never live with it for long.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcpbrmCbrI/AAAAAAAAAK4/YnNstU1UmI4/s1600/Picture26-2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TUcpbrmCbrI/AAAAAAAAAK4/YnNstU1UmI4/s640/Picture26-2.png" width="540" /></a></div><br />
This piece I came across in the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a> the other day and quickly knew the colored matting idea could make this stunning piece of art really pop. I would love to see it in a turquoise or a yellow. It would be so unexpected, but it would definitely make one stop and stare for a bit. <br />

It is absolutely stunning. I can only imagine the home or business that it would go in. It really is a piece of art. The scale is quite large, if you look closely you can see how small I am compared to this piece in the reflection. I think it would look amazing in an industrial loft and look just as stunning in a stately home. A piece to treasure for years to come. <br />

The whole set up could be brought home and feel just right.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzPj655gGI/AAAAAAAAAKU/Lj1sUR0bGwI/s1600/DSC_2535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzPj655gGI/AAAAAAAAAKU/Lj1sUR0bGwI/s640/DSC_2535.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Of course any element of this arrangement would look gorgeous in any home. Even in unexpected ways. I could imagine the slip covered wing backs at the head of a dining table. Could you imagine the hours spent here dining and chatting?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzQQ8sQ1FI/AAAAAAAAAKg/DqyIbYG341s/s1600/193692-6-08+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="512" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzQQ8sQ1FI/AAAAAAAAAKg/DqyIbYG341s/s640/193692-6-08+copy.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">{via <a href="http://www.lonnymag.com/decorate/living_rooms">Lonny}</a></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Here is another view. I adore the wooden architectural elements hanging on the wall. The blue gray shade is something I want to work more into my home. The array of antlers only makes it extra special and a bit unexpected. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzP9CRyiNI/AAAAAAAAAKY/Z_ot7QMGH4g/s1600/DSC_2538.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTzP9CRyiNI/AAAAAAAAAKY/Z_ot7QMGH4g/s640/DSC_2538.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Here is another use for the antlers. I so would love to recreate this space and the antlers would be the icing on the cake.<br />
<br />

I think they make an average space look quite fabulous. I could easily see one going in an entryway, a large hall, a bedroom... you know I could go on and on. Here is the dream...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdo1tWeBtI/AAAAAAAAAKE/8F3tELmcox4/s1600/setee-amie-corley-desing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="474" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdo1tWeBtI/AAAAAAAAAKE/8F3tELmcox4/s640/setee-amie-corley-desing.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdo2Ab2UCI/AAAAAAAAAKI/kLe2DJWGAKI/s1600/settee-design-addict-mom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdo2Ab2UCI/AAAAAAAAAKI/kLe2DJWGAKI/s640/settee-design-addict-mom.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
That could be a reality...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdpdYeF93I/AAAAAAAAAKM/tSU186SBgyg/s1600/DSC_2534.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TTdpdYeF93I/AAAAAAAAAKM/tSU186SBgyg/s640/DSC_2534.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
This beauty is at the <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">French Market</a> and I think the pillows add quite a lovely touch. Oh, and did I mention since the <span style="font-size: x-small;"><b>fifth annual after Christmas sale </b>was sent array due to the incremental weather we had, it has been extended!</span><br />
<div style="color: #444444; text-align: center;"><br />

I narrowed it down to an english roll arm sofa, a more tailored smaller tufted piece, and a rather lovely chair. Here are a few images that inspired me into narrowing down my options to these three...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMq85d_Z6I/AAAAAAAAFos/-pvIoCH4t5E/s1600/east_hampton_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="476" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMq85d_Z6I/AAAAAAAAFos/-pvIoCH4t5E/s640/east_hampton_02.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMq-lIiNlI/AAAAAAAAFow/dw2Et5DlU_0/s1600/image18_thumb.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMq-lIiNlI/AAAAAAAAFow/dw2Et5DlU_0/s640/image18_thumb.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I do love how an english roll arm sofa can take on many looks. Each one of these rooms feel very different, but alas the sofa fits in quite nicely to each.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMrHv-uRuI/AAAAAAAAFo8/4od9TdwOpds/s1600/viapatriciagrayhousebeautiful99.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="498" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMrHv-uRuI/AAAAAAAAFo8/4od9TdwOpds/s640/viapatriciagrayhousebeautiful99.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMrE6-5Y8I/AAAAAAAAFo4/-6t2yMUks5k/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-01-16+at+11.15.22+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="506" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_MRbmu8lvSIY/TTMrE6-5Y8I/AAAAAAAAFo4/-6t2yMUks5k/s640/Screen+shot+2011-01-16+at+11.15.22+AM.png" width="640" /></a></div><br />
Although this piece differs a bit from the tufted piece I may be choosing I love that one day it could possibly sit ever so prettily at the end of our bed.<br />

This chair again is a bit different from the one I narrowed it down to, but I do love how versatile of a piece it could become. We do not currently live in a home that we would call our forever house, but this piece could easily move home to home with us. <br />

Well, <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">this piece</a> did it for me...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TS3-9MipDxI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/eYJ2uBEeOkE/s1600/DSC_2550.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TS3-9MipDxI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/eYJ2uBEeOkE/s640/DSC_2550.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br />
I could see it living here. Such a perfect size for this spot. On the top I would store my extra table linens and dishes. The bottom would store all our well loved board games. Perfect, right?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TS3_e1-k4jI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/oeG8MEtbPas/s1600/DSC_1089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nxa2WiYYRwQ/TS3_e1-k4jI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/oeG8MEtbPas/s640/DSC_1089.JPG" width="418" /></a></div><br />
This is an over all view just to get an extra sense of how lovely it would be in here. The <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">piece</a> practically belongs with my chairs.<br />
<br />

Of course a <a href="http://shopfrenchmarketantiques.com/">piece</a> as lovely as this I could make work in any home anywhere. Where would it work in your home? Just curious.Mrs. Frenchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10557802283328331937noreply@blogger.com19
