A Piece of Art

I came across this home in the Montgomery Alabama real estate listings and soon came to find out it was fully renovated by Bobby McAlpine and Greg Tankersley. This home feels grand but still has a warm and livable feeling to it. Now that is good design.

The arched windows and door are utterly stunning. Love how the door is flanked by two sitting areas both with matching banquettes.

The staircase is a piece of art in itself. Also love the huge urn with moss. Such an unexpected touch with such elegance.

I only assume this is a dressing room. I could only imagine the dress up parties I could have in here.

The kitchen, well most definitely speaks for itself. The dramatic drapery with fringe makes this room rather opulent and adds a cozy touch all in one.

I could easily see myself lounging in here for hours. The wood work is quite amazing and I believe the sofa is a Bobby McAlpine design for Lee Industries.

This bath is fit for royalty. The marble and bust, well need I say more?

Oddly enough this may be my favorite space. I love the outdoors and dining alfresco so needless to say this space would be used often.

This absolutely stunning home is listed for $650,000. Doesn't that seem rather low. Granted I have no idea what real estate is like in Montgomery's garden district, but this place is a work of art.

* UPDATE just came to find out this is Greg Tankersley personal home. No wonder it is so gorgeous! He commented and it may have just made my day.

I'm so depressed! That's the same price as 1200 square foot fixer in my neck of the woods. I do have to get one of those huge urns though. Love that.

Yes that DOES seem low! I love the rich curtains in the kitchen... velour, maybe? I would NEVER think to put those in a kitchen. Brilliant!

I dug up the listing because I thought it looked familiar-- it's my childhood friend's home! I knew it pre-renovation, though:) That price seems about what I would expect for that part of Montgomery. It is stunning-- I wish I could move right on in!

That price makes me want to move!!! It fascinates me what real estate runs in other areas, here that would buy you a beautiful lot to build on or a POS home. : /
Thank you for sharing, I am off to look again!
