It Should be Mine...

Do you ever see a piece and instantly imagine where it could dwell in your home? Well, this piece did it for me...

I could see it living here. Such a perfect size for this spot. On the top I would store my extra table linens and dishes. The bottom would store all our well loved board games. Perfect, right?

This is an over all view just to get an extra sense of how lovely it would be in here. The piece practically belongs with my chairs.

Of course a piece as lovely as this I could make work in any home anywhere. Where would it work in your home? Just curious.

It is such a pretty piece! I think some floor to ceiling white bookshelves (maybe built in?) would look great on either side of the opening as well! Another project though...

I would place it in the living room for books and extra blankets :). Hidden behind such beauty.

Quiet the piece indeed! I love the spindle detailing along the sides, it makes that piece a show piece. xo

Oh I have a shop where I go that I am sure to find a piece of furniture that shouts in a similar way to me! I think this piece might just fit in my living room actually.

It is gorgeous, will it be finding its way into your home?

Oh yes! And I always love the contrast between real old and real new pieces. It makes for very warm and personal homes, I think.

And during the winter holidays you can use it as a "candy store! See what I do with my Swedish secretaire every year.

I love the idea of 'tucking everything away' and this cabinet would do just that. Albeit more industrial, I have an old metal locker from a elementary school chemistry classroom that serves the same purpose: stores our DVDs, boardgames, etc.

The cabinet would look right at home in your space!

It would be perfect in my foyer or maybe my daughter's room. We're working on a re-design for her bedroom in the new house. honestly, it could work anywhere. and if it doesn't, one should re-design a room to fit it... cuz it's so pretty :)

What a wonderful piece!! You do have the perfect spot! Wouldn't it be neat to use as part of a built-in in a master bath?! If only I were building my dream home! Thanks for sharing.

I can sorta see in one of the photos that you found a lantern for over the dining table. I would love to see your whole dining room in its completed state. I really love it.
