A Simple Palette

I came across this home in the New England of Connecticut digital magazine addition and it stopped me in my tracks. Granted the exterior is stunning with not only the actual home, but the stone circle drive, and a yard that reminds me of my grandparents home growing up. The interior of this home really struck me as well and as I studied every image I quickly realized why. The color palette is the same as I use in my own home. Blacks, browns, whites, and green are quite predominant. Did you notice the rounded couch in the background in the 4th image, well now I know how mine would look with a slip cover. The bright green wall resembles Ellie's bedroom color which she picked out herself and the pillow in the same image are ones we own also. Although I try to keep my home quite minimal this one takes it to a whole other level and a good one at that.

Are you drawn to homes that happen to have the same characteristics as your own or do admire those that are completely different?

Oh gosh this is lovely! I love the use of white and green together - it keeps the minimalist look warm, rather than harsh as it so often looks.

Fab find!

So well done inside and out. Amazing attention to detail. The dark floors with the lighter walls is such a solid look. Very cool post.

The outside of that home is absolutely breathtaking- so so pretty. I love the palate of white and green with a little wood thrown - so soft and elegant.

Oh, the exposed brick, the angled walls, I love it all...except for the dark hardwood floors, with 2 little ones it is something I will never ever do again, I like my sanity. ;) But everything else is just stunning, off to save these images to my home file. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day! xo

What a beautiful home. I love green and white together, especially with black accents. I can't wait to have a house of my own to be able to paint the walls and decorate however I please!! Great photos!

We are in the midst of an addition and although we are adding space, I am looking for simplicity. I admire homes that just seem to be "just right" - Guess Goldilocks and I have the same sort of desire. That "just right" look and feel.
